The last few months have seen an unprecedented volume of new GPRD research projects that has culminated in a major problem for ISAC, particularly over the traditional summer holiday period. As a consequence ISAC cannot currently operate to the promulgated turn around of 21 days. However it will do its best to keep as close as possible to this time scale

There are no short term fixes to this situation but I would like you to be aware that we have a planned solution should the volume of research projects continue at the current rate after the summer vacation.

What we would ask is that you bear with us during this time and additionally inform us as to whether your project is either urgent or will not be inconvenienced if ISAC takes a little longer than 21 days. This information can be typed at the end of the ISAC form.

ISAC has doubled in membership size over the past three years, in response to the success of GPRD and as a consequence the volume of research. Perhaps what we are seeing over the summer is a continuation of this trend but, as stated before, we have plans to address the issue once we are sure the situation is not just temporary.
