P atients will be chosen to participate in the study because at some point they have taken a statin. We need to recruit 250 patients who have developed muscle problems whilst taking statins. For example, they may have experienced muscle stiffness, weakness, tenderness, or may not have experienced any symptoms but had a rise in blood enzyme levels. We also need to recruit 500 patients who have not developed muscle problems whilst taking statins.

We will recruit patients over a two year period.
